1. Who we are

Lactiq is operated by Digital Beacon Pty Ltd (ABN 31 120 940 114), based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. For any privacy question or request, contact founder@lactiq.net — a person reads that inbox and answers it.

2. What we collect

When you place an order, we collect your name, email address, delivery address, and (optionally) phone number, entered directly into our checkout. If you tick "email me with news and offers," we keep your email for that purpose specifically.

We also collect basic analytics data automatically when you browse lactiq.net — pages viewed, approximate location (country/region level), device type, and how you interact with the page. This is handled through Google Analytics (GA4).

We do not collect or store your payment card details. Payment is processed entirely by Shopify Payments — see Section 4.

3. Why we collect it

• To process and ship your order
• To send order confirmations, shipping updates, and respond if something goes wrong
• To send marketing emails, only if you've opted in
• To understand how people use the site, so it can be improved

4. Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information to anyone. It is shared only with the services needed to actually run the business:

• Shopify Inc. — processes checkout, payment, and order fulfilment. Shopify's own privacy policy governs how they handle payment data.
• Google LLC (Google Analytics) — processes anonymised browsing data to help us understand site traffic.
• Australia Post / couriers — receive your delivery address to ship your order.

5. Where your data is stored

Because we use Shopify and Google Analytics, some of your data may be processed or stored on servers located outside Australia. Both providers maintain their own data protection standards; we choose providers that are widely used and independently audited, but we can't control their infrastructure directly.

6. Cookies and analytics

lactiq.net uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site. This does not identify you personally. Because we currently sell only within Australia, and Australian law does not require a cookie consent banner for standard analytics use (unlike the EU), we haven't added one — this section is that disclosure instead.

7. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act, you can ask what personal information we hold about you, request a correction, or lodge a complaint. Email founder@lactiq.net first. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the update.
